Updated April 1, 2022 As of April 1, masking is no longer required in the library. We recommend you wear a mask if you are sick with Covid symptoms or have been exposed to someone with Covid. We will continue to watch Vermont's percent positivity rate and may reinstate a mask mandate in the future if we feel it is in the best interest of our patrons and staff.
Updated March 2022 The Town of Grand Isle Selectboard voted to lift the mask mandate for Town buildings. The library is currently still requiring masking in the library.
*Updated August 30, 2021 Grand Isle Selectboard voted on August 30 to implement a mask mandate in Town buildings. Members of the public are required to wear a mask while in a Town building and town employees are required to wear a mask when interacting with the public.
*Updated August 21, 2021 Effective August 24, 2021 Due to increasing number of Covid-19 cases, all patrons must now wear a mask when inside the library, even if fully vaccinated. If you are not able to wear a mask in the library, we will be happy to offer curbside service for you. *Updated May 10, 2021 The library continues to follow guidance from Governor Scott and the State of Vermont Health Department. In order to protect those who are not vaccinated, please wear a mask in the library and be mindful of social distancing.

*UPDATED– November 20, 2020 The Library reopened on September 8, 2020 with the protocols and safety measures listed below, CURBSIDE SERVICE Curbside service is still available. Please submit your requests 24 hours in advance of normal open hours. *In the event of another closure, the library would reinstate the protocols listed below.
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
Call the library at 802-372-4797 or email [email protected] to make an appointment to browse for books or use a library computer.
Appointments are for 30 minutes at the top of the hour. If you arrive late for your appointment, you must still finish your visit by half past the hour. This allows for staff cleaning between appointments.
Library visits are limited to two people at one time plus librarian. We hope to expand the number of appointments as the weeks progress.
Patrons may come individually, in groups of two, or a parent with up to two children under 12.
Everyone must wear a mask except those 2 and under.
No unaccompanied minors under age 12. Children must remain close enough for parent to monitor.
Please go to the restroom before arriving. The town and library restrooms are closed to the public.
When you enter, please use hand sanitizer before touching the materials. Additional hand sanitizers will be available throughout the library. When you leave, please use hand sanitizer again to maintain cleanliness of the door area.
Patrons should maintain a minimum distance of six feet circumference between persons not in their party.
STAY SAFE In accordance with the safety measures set by Governor Scott and the State of Vermont, please: If you’re sick, stay home. Self-isolate if you have a fever or cough, or if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.Symptoms include: fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. To ensure safety of staff and visitors, individuals exhibiting signs of respiratory illness may be refused entry. Out-of-state visitors, please review Vermont requirements and guidelines. Stay six feet away from everyone. Unless a family or group arrives together, all guests must remain at least six feet apart. Cloth face coverings required for all patrons. If you are unable to wear a face covering or prefer not to, curbside pickup is available for you. OTHER INFORMATION All returns go into the outdoor book drop. To renew an item, call or email the library. Don’t bring it into the library. Copying or printing from the computer is .15 per sheet. We cannot make change so please be prepared with correct amount. Please call us to cancel your appointment, if you can’t make it. Thank you for your continued support! We are working hard to help keep our community safe.
